ETHIAS<\/span><\/h1>

Guaranteed income insurance. Through the agreement between Unions Syndicale and Ethias,
\nUnion Syndicale Brussels members are eligible for this coverage at no cost. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Guaranteed income insurance provides coverage for salary loss due to illness or accident in the private sphere for civil servants. Through the agreement between Unions Syndicale and Ethias, Union Syndicale Brussels members are eligible for this coverage at no cost.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

However, the Ethias insurance only applies to the loss of flat-rate allowances, such as overtime or shift work compensation.<\/p>\n

Guaranteed income insurance covers loss of salary in the event of illness or accident in the private sphere, for civil servants.<\/p>\n

Who is covered?<\/strong> Contract and statutory civil servants.<\/p>\n

The risks covered are :<\/strong>
\n– Illness.
\n– CFS, fibromyalgia and certain psychological disorders, including burn-out.
\n– Personal accident.
\n– Maternity leave (optional).<\/p>\n

What are the benefits?<\/strong> Continued remuneration up to 80% of salary.<\/p>\n

Insurance that goes beyond legal benefits:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Legal provisions for contractual agents: replacement income (through the intervention of the mutual insurance company) amounts to 60% of salary during the first year of disability.<\/li>\n
  • Legal provisions for statutory employees: salary is maintained at 100% as long as the quota of \u201csick days\u201d has not been used up.<\/li>\n
  • Insurance guarantee: up to 80% of normal salary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What is covered<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

    \u2714 Professional income lost as a result of incapacity due to an accident or illness.
    \n\u2714 Insured income is determined when the contract is concluded
    \n\u2714 The annuity paid can be automatically indexed (lump-sum or according to the health index)
    \n\u2714 Compensation is always linked to an actual loss of income<\/p>\n

    What is not insured:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    \u2718 Medical expenses related to incapacity
    \n\u2718 An accident or illness not controllable by medical examination
    \n\u2718 An accident or illness not covered by a medical certificate
    \n\u2718 Incapacity during the waiting period (at the employer’s discretion; with a minimum of one month)
    \n\u2718 Recognized work incapacity of less than 25%.<\/p>\n
