us_custom_432d3f53\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The<\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0Union Syndicale\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">informs you that:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You may receive a flat-rate allowance equal to the maximum amount of the education allowance, i.e. 316,95\u20ac per month (value at 01.01.2023). \u00a0If the child attends a higher education establishment in a country other than the official\u2019s country of employment, the official is entitled to an amount representing twice the school allowance ceiling i.e. 633,90\u20ac per month (value at 01.01.2023).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_CM4\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You are also entitled to this ceiling mentioned above for a child attending a higher education establishment in the same country as the country in which his\/her parent is employed, if the school is at more than\u00a0<b>50\u00a0km<\/b>\u00a0from the place of employment and that the official\/other servant is entitled to the\u00a0<b>16\u00a0%<\/b>\u00a0expatriation allowance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Please be aware\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">that\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cc.cec\/guide\/publications\/infoadm\/2005\/ia05035_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"6\">attendance of temporary courses or training<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<b>is not considered as regular full-time attendance<\/b>\u00a0in an educational establishment (school within the meaning of Article 3(\u00a71) of Annex VII to the Staff Regulations).<b><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Heads of Administration consider that the requirement of &#8220;regular\u00a0<b>full-time<\/b>\u00a0attendance&#8221; at a primary or secondary school or establishment of higher education is satisfied as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Automatically &#8211; if the pupil or student is given\u00a0<b><u>16 hours of tuition and\/or practical work weekly<\/u><\/b>\u00a0at the education establishment; or,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In cases where this number of hours is not reached, only when:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The studies are part of a complete course, i.e. their purpose is\u00a0<b><u>recognised by the State<\/u><\/b>, and the pupil or student follows the standard timetable specified for that type of studies.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The requirement of \u201c<b><u>regular\u201d<\/u><\/b>\u00a0attendance at a primary or secondary school or at an establishment of higher education is satisfied if the attendance of the pupil or student is registered for\u00a0<b><u>a period of studies of at least three months and minimum 16h\/Week<\/u><\/b>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><i><u><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i><u><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Note also that when the benefits cease<\/span><\/u><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, the JSIS coverage for children also ceases. \u00a0A request for extension of coverage for a maximum of 12 months can be submitted to the\u00a0<\/span><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/myintracomm.ec.europa.eu\/staff\/EN\/health\/insurance\/settlements-office\/Pages\/index.aspx?ln=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"7\">settlement office<\/a><\/span><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, for children without paid employment or if they are subject to a probationary period to obtain the national social security system.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You need to submit your education declaration each year\u00a0<b>before 15 November<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
