Many of you have recently received an invitation to fill out a Belgian tax declaration. For most of you, this will be the first declaration to be filled after many years. The letter also mentions that the declaration has to be filed electronically, which, again, for many will be a first time.
In order to help you fill out the tax form correctly, Union Syndicale will be organising a webinar explaining step by step what to do. The webinar will take place on Monday 30 June 2025, well in time, given that the deadline for filing the tax form is mid-July 2025.

The seminar will address numerous practical issues, such as:
- how to access the electronic filing system, also in case you have a special identity card
- in which cases you are deemed a non tax resident in Belgium
- how to complete the form in case you are a non tax resident, including what to do in case you have income taxable in Belgium
- in which cases you, despite being married or in a civil partnership, have to file separate forms or indicate that you are not married
- how to complete the questions about EU income
- practical tips on how to complete the form (immovable income including property abroad, bank accounts abroad, etc)
- which declarations to add to the tax form
- how to complete the tax form for non residents.
With the tips and tricks provided during the webinar, completing the tax form will – in most cases – turn out to be simple and straightforward.
The Webinar (in EN) will be hosted by Niels Bracke, president of Union Syndicale Brussels.
He is a lawyer specialising in EU civil servants’ law, joint sickness insurance scheme, as well as the EU protocol on privileges and immunities.
He has in-depth knowledge of the taxation status of EU staff, notably the fiscal residence clause.
If you have questions, please write to osp-us-bxl@ec.europa.eu . We will answer during the webinar or in writing.
