Our archives prove it: solidarity has been our business for 50 years. Our archives dating back to 1973 bear witness to the USB’s trade union commitment to the staff of the EU institutions.
To mark its 50th anniversary, Union Syndicale Service Public Européen – Bruxelles has decided to publish documents from its archives dating back to its creation in 1973.
These documents, which bear witness to the birth and first steps of the union, include the invitation sent to members, the thread listing the names of speakers, the minutes of the constituent general meeting held on January 25, 1973, the auditors’ report, the financial report and a proposal for setting the scale of dues.
These historical documents provide an insight into the issues and challenges faced by the syndicate at the time of its creation, as well as the decisions taken to ensure its smooth running. They also offer an insight into the state of industrial relations and union demands at the time.
These documents are an invaluable testimony to the history of Union Syndicale Bruxelles and its commitment to the rights and interests of the staff of the European institutions.
